Carlo Ancelotti reportedly hopes to convince Los Blancos duo Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez to join him at Premier League club Everton as the Merseyside outfit looks to cut the gap between them and league's elites, according to a report in Marca.

Ancelotti had coached both Bale and Rodriguez when he was at the helm at Real Madrid and was successful in getting the best out of two players. The Spanish side is willing to offload the players in the summer transfer window, Marca claims.

Both Bale and Rodriguez were high-profile signings for Real Madrid, but they have not been able to live up to the expectations shouldered on them. Rodriguez was even loaned out to Bayern Munich, while Bale found himself close to joining a Chinese side last summer, only for the deal to fall through in the eleventh hour.

Both players appear to have no future at the club, and a move elsewhere seems to be the right option to revive their career at this stage.

However, Everton and Ancelotti would find it tough to get the duo, especially Gareth Bale as there are concerns over whether they could afford his humongous wage demands.

The report also adds Bale seems to be keen on staying put at Madrid and sees his contract run out. The Welshman has two more years left on his current contract.
