Real Madrid have been linked with a move for Eduardo Camavinga ever since he burst into the scene this season. Manager Zinedine Zidane is reportedly a big fan of the player and would like to add him to his squad.
While he might be too young, he would still represent better value for money than, say, Paul Pogba, here are three reasons why the Frenchman would be a perfect signing for the Merengues.
3. Backup for Casemiro
Real Madrid have a decent backup for both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos in the form of Fede Valverde. Even James and Isco could do a job in central midfield when played in that position.
Meanwhile, Martin Odegaard could be back this summer, which means that Modric’s replacement is already owned by the club. However, the Blancos don’t have a proper alternative for Brazilian destroyer Casemiro and struggle to cope up in his absence.
Camavinga solves that problem with his arrival.
2. Better value for money
While the price touted for the Frenchman is around €100million, there is no way that the Galacticos would pay anywhere near that amount for the youngster. The fee is likely to be close to half of that and would be an incredible value for money.
Madrid would have to dish out north of €70million for an established midfielder like Fabian Ruiz or Paul Pogba. As a result, paying a similar amount for a young player would make more sense, especially because they need someone like him.
1. Incredibly talented
The most important part of Madrid’s whole interest for the teenager is his talent. Camavinga might only be 17 but he possesses maturity beyond his years. Casemiro at 17 was nowhere near the player that Camavinga is right now.
The French youngster doesn’t hurry into tackles or get dragged out of his position easily. He is also very calm and composed on the ball and could pluck out a pass out of nothing to surprise the opposition.
Such a gem is rare and Madrid could do worse than not signing him.
