Manchester United have reportedly been in contact with Jadon Sancho’s agent for the last two months, but have yet to make a formal approach to Borussia Dortmund for the player’s services.

According to renowned Italian journalist Fabrizio RomanoOle Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to land the winger from Dortmund this summer. Sancho has been tipped to make a return to England during the next transfer window and he has been linked with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, apart from United.

Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke also explained the club will not stand in his way, but that interested parties will have to spend big to prise him away.

However, it is expected that the Bundesliga club will expect potential suitors to shell out at least €110million (£97m) for Sacho's services, with Dortmund reluctant to budge on the asking price amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“You always have to respect what the player wants,” Watzke told Bild.

“We said before coronavirus that our favourite idea is that Jadon will stay with us. I can say that even the very rich clubs, despite the existing crisis, don’t believe they can go on a bargain tour with us. We don’t have to sell anyone below value.”

The England international continues to impress in the Bundesliga, with 14 goals in just 23 appearances.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has urged his former club to sign Sancho, claiming he is worthy of the iconic no.7 shirt worn by the likes of David Beckham, Eric Cantona and Cristiano Ronaldo.
