Real Madrid have been linked with yet another Brazilian star plying his trade in his homeland as the Galacticos have scouted Sao Paulo’s Igor Gomes, according to a report from AS.

The Merengues have dominated the Brazilian market as they have recently signed some of the best talents in the country in the form of Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Reinier Jesus for a combined worth of around €120million.

The Sao Paulo star, meanwhile, seems to be the next Brazilian youngster that the Galacticos are targeting. Gomes, who is 21-years-old, has been likened with former Real Madrid star Kaka and has also attracted the interest of Sevilla and Barcelona.

Indeed, the Brazil legend himself admitted that Gomes reminds him of himself.

"It's not good to make comparisons, it puts too much pressure on him," Kaká said recently. "But yes, it's true that he reminds me a lot of myself in terms of his style of play."

Gomes has a €50million release clause in his contract but the Merengues are yet to make an official approach for the player. If they decide to do so, however, it will almost certainly be facilitated by Wagner Ribeiro, one of the club’s trusted confidants in Brazil who was also in the intermediary in the deal that brought Robinho from Santos to Madrid in 2005.
