Spanish behemoths FC Barcelona have reportedly cooled their interest in Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to Daily Star (via Daily Mail). This comes as a massive boost for Premier League side Manchester United who are also interested in signing the Gabonese international in the next transfer window.
Aubameyang, who's contract is set to expire in the summer of 2021, has been tipped to leave the north London outfit. Several top European sides are lining up to acquire his services with FC Barcelona previously the favourites to win the race.
However, the Catalan giants have now reportedly decided to prioritise bringing in Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez, which has opened doors for United in their pursuit of the 30-year-old attacker. Nevertheless, the Arsenal forward remains as a back-up option for the Barcelona.

Aubameyang has not yet signed a new contract with Arsenal that would see his stay at the club extended. Arsenal saw Welshman Aaron Ramsey join Italian side Juventus on a free transfer in the last summer. Hence they will likely be willing to cash in on Aubameyang in the coming transfer window, rather than letting their star man walk away on a free transfer later in 2021.
French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain are reported to be another potential suitor for the in-form striker and could even offer him Champions League football.
Meanwhile, United sit fifth in the points table, and it would be enough for the Red Devils to earn Champions League qualification if the ban against City is upheld. Nevertheless, United are still expected to break into the top-four, given their current form, when action resumes in English top-flight, which has been postponed at least until April 30 due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
