Egyptian star Mohamed Elneny has warned his compatriot, Mohamed Salah against joining Real Madrid or Barcelona, citing the example of Eden Hazard, who has struggled to make an impact during his first season at the Santiago Bernabeu due to constant injuries.
Meanwhile, Salah has continued to show his brilliance with the Reds, who are at the top of the league and are only a few match-days away from mathematically winning the league. The Egyptian has been linked with a move to Real Madrid and Barcelona but Elneny thinks that he should stay at Liverpool as they are already a big club.
“For me, he’s currently playing for one of best the teams in the world,” he said, as per Goal.
“He’s a superstar at Liverpool. If I were him, I’d stay at Liverpool.”
Egypt team-mate Mohamed Elneny: "Hazard is struggling at Real after he moved from Chelsea. Of course, Real Madrid is bigger than Liverpool, Barcelona is bigger than Liverpool. But Salah is very settled at his current club and this Liverpool team is up there with the best."— M•A•J (@Ultra_Suristic) February 28, 2020
He then went on to state the example of Hazard struggling at Madrid and claimed that Salah should stay at Liverpool, even though the Reds are not as big as the Catalans and the Merengues.
“You see Eden Hazard is struggling at Real after he moved from Chelsea,” added Elneny.
“Of course, Real Madrid is bigger than Liverpool, Barcelona is bigger than Liverpool. But he’s very settled at his current club and this Liverpool team is up there with the best. I don’t know what he thinks inside but I would definitely stay at Liverpool.”
