Manchester United could sell their star player, David de Gea in the summer transfer window in order to raise funds with the Dailymail reporting that the club hierarchy could decide on cashing in on the Spaniard.

De Gea is widely considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but has suffered a drastic downturn in form, with United considering selling him especially as they are continuing to suffer financially due to their non-participation in the Champions League.

The latest financial figures predict that the Red Devils could suffer a hit of upto £70million in revenue for the year which has got the hierarchy considering on off-loading players for who they could receive a substantial amount in terms of transfer fee.

The Spaniard for his part is contracted with the club till 2023, though it is understood that he would be willing to make a move away from Old Trafford. He was heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, before they signed Thibaut Courtois - and now the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are seen as potential destinations.

United are understood to be keeping a close eye on Dean Henderson - on loan at Sheffield United - who has helped the Blades to 7th in the league, while they also have Sergio Romero in their ranks, with the Argentinian considered to be the best reserve keeper in the Premier League.
