Juventus take on Lyon in the Champions League later tonight as the Italian giants would want to get an advantage over the French outfit of the return leg in Turin. They are obviously the favourites here and with that in mind, here are the three things to look forward to as Lyon take on the Old Lady.
3. The Ronaldo effect
Cristiano Ronaldo has been in great form ever since the start of 2020. The Portuguese superstar just can’t seem to stop scoring and will be crucial in the match against the French giants.
The Portugal captain becomes a different beast altogether in the knockouts of the Champions League and it would be interesting to see how he fares up against Lyon later tonight.
2. Moussa Dembele could be key
Lyon may have not been enjoying the best of campaigns in the league so far this season but they are capable of springing a surprise against better teams, especially at their own home.
The French club’s main weapon is Moussa Dembele as the striker has the ability to score goals against the run of play. As a result, Juventus defenders will have to be wary of the threat that he poses.
1. Main test for Sarri
Even though the Old Lady are at the top of the table in the league with one point, Maurizio Sarri has had a lot of criticism for the rigid ways of his system. The Italian has his beliefs and sticks to it no matter what – and it has come back to bite him more often than not.
Against Lyon, he might be facing a rather easy team but things could go wrong for him like it sometimes does. Given that winning the Champions League is the main priority for the Old Lady, his future at the club will depend on their performance in Europe.
