New Manchester United player Bruno Fernandes has revealed that he thanked Cristiano Ronaldo after he made his move to the Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

After being linked with the Portugal international for the entirety of the summer transfer window last year, the Old Trafford outfit finally managed to sign him in January.

Fernandes has done well since joining the Red Devils, making an assist in the two league matches that he played so far. Meanwhile, he has revealed that he thanked United legend Ronaldo after joining the Theatre of Dreams because of the good words that the current Juventus hitman spoke about Bruno following his move to the Old Trafford.

"I didn't speak to [Ronaldo] before coming but did after my arrival,” he said, as per Goal.

Bruno then revealed what he did regarding Ronaldo after he joined United as he said, "I know some people asked Cristiano what he thought of me and what I was like as a player and a person. I know he spoke highly of me and gave me a good reference, so I sent him a message after to thank him for his kind words."

Cristiano Ronaldo had some great years at the Old Trafford, winning every possible title that a player could. He also landed his first Ballon d’Or as a United player and Bruno Fernandes would want to emulate his compatriot – at least when it comes to winning trophies with the club.
