Arsenal have upped their attempt to sign Bukayo Saka to the club for a longer time by offering him an extension. The youngster has performed brilliantly since coming to the scene with the Londoners and has, as a result, caught the attention of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Saka burst into the limelight after being played in an unfamiliar left-back role and thriving under new manager Mikel Arteta. Indeed, the youngster made a superb assist to Nicholas Pepe against Newcastle and took his fame up a notch in the process.

As a result of his brilliant performance, he has attracted the interest of some of Europe’s top clubs, with Liverpool being one of the names.

The youngster has another 18 months left on his contract and is currently earning only £3000-per-week at north London. As a result of his rather low amount, Arsenal are said to be moving quickly to make him sign a new contract and are optimistic about him doing so, according to Mirror.

The incredible performance of Saka means that he is in a great position to strike a big deal with the Londoners. Mikel Arteta is also a huge admirer of the player as he recently praised him after his great outing against Newcastle.

“He (Saka) takes responsibility, he takes risks in the final third,” Arteta said.

"He is a player who wants to make an impact, he has courage."
