Chelsea have announced the signing of Hakim Ziyech from Ajax as the Moroccan star is set to play for the Blues from next season onwards. The winger is an extremely creative player who can really add something new to Chelsea’s side.
The 26-year-old scored 21 goals last season from 49 matches and his performances were a catalyst for Ajax’s progression in Europe. After winning the Dutch League, Ajax lost two of its major star players in Matthijs de Ligt and Frenkie de Jong.
However, they might lose their entire set of great players with the departure of Ziyech now. According to The Athletic, the Dutch giants could be facing a mass exodus in the summer with no less than 8 of their star players leaving the club.
The report claims that the likes of goalkeeper Andre Onana, left-back Nicolas Tagliafico and midfielder David Neres are some of the players that could leave the club while Joel Veltman, Daley Blind, Noussair Mazraoui and Sergino Dest are also on the list of potential departures.
Meanwhile, Donny van de Beek has been linked with a move to Real Madrid but the player himself has denied reports of him having agreed to a contract with the Santiago Bernabeu outfit.
“Nothing is official (with Real Madrid). There is no contract. That is the situation. That has not changed throughout the season.”
