Real Madrid are interested in acquiring the signature of Lautaro Martinez from Inter in the summer, according to a report from TyC (via AS). The Argentine has attracted the interest of Barcelona but the Merengues are also said to be in the race to sign the forward.

The Argentine has been astounding form this season for Antonio Conte’s side, scoring 16 goals and registering four assists in 28 matches for the Italian outfit. The forward is available for only €111million, which is a relatively low amount in the current climate.

The report further claims that the Los Blancos are willing to pay €14million in wages annually to the player, who has been on the radar of club president Florentino Perez for quite some time now.

Indeed, the Argentine had previously revealed that the Merengues had been interested in speaking to him before he joined Inter, saying: "I've had a lot of offers [before joining Inter], and they [Madrid] wanted to speak to me."

Madrid aren’t the only side who have their eyes on the youngster as Barcelona are also touted to be another club who are eying him as a long-term replacement for Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan is in his 30s now and could very well decline once he comes back from his injury. As a result, the Blaugranas need a player who could be a long-term successor to the Uruguayan, and Martinez is among the options.
