Zinedine Zidane may have managed to steer Real Madrid away from the poor season they had in 2018/19 but his driving skills on the road apparently need some work.

Marca reports that the French manager bumped his car into the back of a vehicle belonging to a man named Ignacio Fernandez. Fernandez had stopped at a roundabout to give way to another car when the incident occured.

"As soon as I saw him, I recognised him and said, 'I would have liked to have met you in other circumstances, but this one is not bad either,'" he recalls telling Zidane in the immediate aftermath of the collision.

The man, who works as a furniture shop manager, then agreed to process the insurance formalities at a later time in order to avoid attracting the attention of the press.

However, he did request - and receive - a selfie with the Real Madrid boss.

"I told him that we could have a selfie, because otherwise people wouldn't believe me if I was hit by Zidane['s vehicle]," he added.

"And he very kindly said yes. He took off his hat and we took the photo."

Zidane's Real Madrid side currently lead defending champions Barcelona by three points on top of the La Liga table.
