New Barcelona striker, Antoine Griezmann has reportedly blamed club icon, Lionel Messi for his slow start to the season at the Nou Camp following his move from Atletico Madrid in the summer.

Griezmann moved to Barcelona from Atletico for 120million in the summer and now France Football via Livesoccertv report that the Frenchman feels that Messi has told the lockeroom to snub the striker both on and off the field and hence has made it tough for him to be successful for the current Spanish champions.

The report goes on to state that Griezmann has told close ones that a number of his team-mates, led by Messi "are jealous of him after he won the World Cup in 2018" and that despite such problems he is going to fight for a place in the squad and ensure that he becomes a success at the Nou Camp.

"They won't be able to get me down. I'm not going to stop fighting, the best thing I can do is put up a happy face," Griezmann reportedly stated.

Despite his reported unhappiness, the 28-year-old has still managed to score 12 goals in 32 games in all competitions and will be relied upon by the club management to improve on those numbers considering that their star striker, Luis Suarez is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery.
