Manchester United fans should probably realise that right now isn't the best time for them to be bantering other clubs - especially with their team languishing in eighth, below the likes of Leicester City, Sheffield United and Everton.
However this one fan found that out the hard way after he tried to troll Bayer Leverkusen's official Twitter account only to end up as the butt of the joke after the footballing Twitterverse pounced on him.
The fan replied to a tweet from Leverkusen's admin about ticket prices for matches and goaded the club for not being at the top of Bundesliga.
but you aren’t at the top of the table..you can’t be right— marshal (@mxrsh_l) February 10, 2020
The reply was swift and brutal, as the admin reminded him that United were literally 38 points behind runaway leaders Liverpool and that he had no standing to troll Leverkusen - who are 5th and just 6 points off leaders Bayern Munich - about their league standing.
Your team is literally 38 points from the top of the table and you come here to say that? https://t.co/hWdQK7aA6d— Bayer 04 Leverkusen (@bayer04_en) February 10, 2020
The online footballing fraternity was also quick to jump in on the fun.
