Roma director Gianluca Petrachi confirms that the club are close to signing Carles Perez from Barcelona. The winger hasn’t been able to break into the first team despite the arrival of Quique Setien and now, he is a step closer to joining the Italian side.
He may have played 10 times in the league but managed only 5 starts. In total, he has a goal and two assists so far this season and Roma are close to signing him, according to director Gianluca Petrachi.
Petrachi stated that they are in talks with Barcelona, with whom they have a good relationship, and are currently trying to convince the player to join their cause in Rome while also revealing that there will not be any option to repurchase the player in the future.

“We continue with our philosophy, investing in young talented players," explained Petrachi, as per AS. "The negotiations [for Pérez] are at an advanced stage. We have an excellent relationship with Barcelona and we are talking to the player. Obviously we need to convince him we have the right sports project here for him.
“I never say that anything is complete until it is all signed, but I'm optimistic. Roma are nobody’s feeder club, so if anyone comes here they will be a Roma player. There will be no repurchase option.”
With just four days left in the window, this one needs to move quickly to get over the line in time.
