Lille manager Christophe Galtier has stated that he doesn’t know anything regarding the situation surrounding midfielder Boubakary Soumare, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

The Red Devils have not been able to strike a deal with Sporting for the signature of Bruno Fernandes as there is a difference in the valuation between the two clubs for the Portuguese star.

As a result, the Old Trafford outfit are looking for alternatives and one of the names mentioned is that of Soumare. His boss at Lille, however, has claimed that he knows nothing regarding the situation of the player, which gives one the impression that there may be some truth in the stories linking the player to the Theatre of Dreams.

“I don’t know. About Bouba Soumare, I don’t know,” he was quoted by Goal.

“No-one’s told me anything about his situation, maybe it won’t. I don’t know.

“He wants to play and fight with the other players to win on Sunday. That’s certain.”

The midfielder has been highly impressive this season for the French outfit, something that has earned him comparison with Manchester United star Paul Pogba.

As a result, he has come into the attention of some of Europe’s top clubs and could reportedly be sold by Lille for around €60 million as they are under pressure to balance their budget by the French football financial watchdog.
