Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick has revealed that new loan signing Alvaro Odriozola has made a strong impression at the club instantly after joining. The Spanish right-back joined the Bavarians on a 6-month loan deal from Real Madrid a few days ago after a lack of opportunities with the first-team.

The former Real Sociedad right-back has only played 5 times this season for the Madrid outfit and was disastrous in his last match in a 1-0 defeat against Mallorca as he was at fault for the only goal scored by Mallorca and was then sent off for a rash foul in the 74th minute.

Meanwhile, even with Joshua Kimmich coming back from suspension for the next game against Schalke, there is a chance for Odriozola to make his debut as he has impressed Flick in the few training sessions that he has had in Germany.

"I'll leave it open," Flick said on Friday, as per AS. "He's making a very good impression, he's a good player. He's an attack-minded defender, he can introduce speed, he's very agile, his crosses are good.

"I'll decide at short notice. We have another option now, which makes us more flexible."

Flick then spoke about Kimmich, praising his dedication and revealing that he is set to play against Schalke.

"Joshua Kimmich is a role model," he said. "He's 100 per cent motivated in every training session, he always gives it everything, he always wants to learn more and improve. I really like this trait. He'll play."
