Chelsea take on Hull City in the FA Cup as the Blues would look to win this match and progress in perhaps the competition that they are one of the favourites to win.
The Blues are expected to win this clash but football is a game of unpredictability and with that in mind, here are three things to look forward to from the game…
3. History favouring Chelsea
Chelsea might be going through an erratic patch of form – something that has troubled them for most of the season so far – but the book of history seems to be in their favour.
Indeed, Hull City have never won a match against the Londoners in the FA Cup. The two have clashed 10 times in the competition and the Londoners have been able to win 7 times while drawing the other three matches.
2. Injury crisis on both teams
Both Chelsea and Hull City are suffering from an injury crisis of sorts. The Londoners are most probably going to be without Tammy Abraham and Reece James while Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are certainly out of the clash.
Meanwhile, Hull City find themselves without defenders Callum Eder and Jordy De Wijs. As a result, it would be interesting to see how both sides cope up without some key players each.
1. Callum Hudson-Odoi’s performance
In the absence of Christian Pulisic and possibly Tammy Abraham, the goalscoring burden falls on the shoulders of Callum Hudson-Odoi. History is also on his side on the FA Cup.
Indeed, the youngster has scored and assisted twice, each, in his last three FA Cup starts – and all of those came against Championship sides, which is the same combination that he will face later tonight.
