Stoke City forward Tyrese Campbell has rejected interest from the likes of Celtic and Rangers in order to sign a new contract at the bet365 Stadium.

The 20-year-old has established himself as a core part of Stoke's senior side this year, racking up five goals in 18 appearances in the Championship.

Campbell had entered the final six months of his contract with Stoke and was heavily linked with a move to either of the Scottish giants, but a source has confirmed to 90min that he snubbed interest from a number of clubs in England as well as the Glasgow teams.

The England youth international's representatives had met with both Celtic and Rangers over a potential cut-price move.

Campbell had attracted interest from the likes of ArsenalEverton and Newcastle United, but he will now remain at the bet365 Stadium with the new four-and-a-half year deal.

Tyrese Campbell

Since joining Stoke from Manchester City's academy back in 2016, Campbell has managed 32 appearances for the senior side, including four in the Premier League towards the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

He bagged his first goals for the club in an FA Cup tie with Shrewsbury Town in January 2019, netting twice against the League One side in a 3-2 loss, and he has continued that development with a further five league goals this season.

Having started the season as a substitute, Campbell has earned a place in Stoke's starting lineup following a series of impressive outings.

Michael O'Neill

He netted a crucial equaliser against Sheffield Wednesday which helped Stoke climb off the bottom of the Championship, but his finest day for the club so far came in a 5-2 win over Huddersfield Town, in which he managed two goals and an assist.

New manager Michael O'Neill has put plenty of faith in Campbell in recent weeks, and that has not been lost on the forward.
