France Football Federation president Noel Le Graet has revealed that the coach’s job of the national team will be offered to Zinedine Zidane should the Real Madrid manager be available for it.

The former Madrid midfielder has been linked to the role ever since he tasted success with the Merengues and now, Le Graet himself has confirmed that the legendary former midfielder will be handed the job after Deschamps leaves.

"The day Didier decides to leave or his contract is not renewed, if Zidane is available at that time, he will be the man for the job," Le Graet said, as per AS.

He also added that Deschamps will be with the team at least until the Qatar World Cup.

"There is Qatar," Le Graet said. "Didier will be there and then, maybe afterwards, I don't know.”

The interest of FFF in Zidane is not surprising as he is already one of the most successful French football coaches of all time. Even though Didier Deschamps has led France to a World Cup win in 2018 after a runners-up medal in Euro 2016, there have been some disgruntled fans who think the French team are not playing to their full potential.

With so many attacking talents in the team, Deschamps’ conservative approach has often been a subject of criticism but all of that could change with Zidane at the helm.
