Outgoing Barcelona defender, Jean-Clair Todibo has opened up on the influence that Lionel Messi has at the Nou Camp, revealing that the entire squad have been instructed to go easy on the striker in training in order to ensure that he does not suffer any injury.
Todibo who is headed to German side, Schalke on a six-month loan deal is keen to stress on the importance of the Argentinian to the club, claiming that while he did make a few tackles on Messi - he was careful not to hurt him.

"We all knew that he couldn't get injured. Messi was defended very carefully in training. I learned a lot from Messi and I even tackled him a few times, but I was careful not to hurt him," he said to Bild.
This statement should come as no surprise considering that the 32-year-old is a talisman of the club and has been their main player for more than a decade. Messi is Barcelona's all-time goalscorer and has continued his brilliant form this season as well, netting 17 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions so far.
The Catalan giants will be hoping that he continues this good form as they head into the business end of the season as their hopes of trophies rests on his shoulders.
