Matteo Politano has been in the headlines of late owing to the transfer merry-go-round involving his club Inter Milan, Roma and Napoli.

However, he also hit the back pages for a less football-centric reason.

It has come to light that the 26-year-old's wife hired a private detective to trail him, only to discover two months ago that he had been seeing Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala's ex behind her back.

The pair have since separated and are leading individual lives, according to Italian football papparazzi side Goslip.

Politano has also been in a tough spot professionally having almost sealed a move to Roma in a swap only for the deal to be scuppered after Inter Milan demanded additional fitness tests for Leonardo Spinazzola.

The player has since been of transfer interest to Napoli, who have reportedly agreed a £21 million fee for the player with Inter Milan despite Politano reportedly favouring a move to Roma.

However, he is in discussions with Napoli to try and sort out personal terms ahead of the move.

Inter Milan are keen to move Politano on so that they can free up a spot to sign a back up striker, with Chelsea's Giroud and Fernando Llorente being touted as strong options.
