France and Paris Saint-Germain superstar, Kylian Mbappe has revealed that he is setting sights on emulating his "idol", Cristiano Ronaldo in the future, while also going on to admit why he will not be able to copy the career of Barcelona icon, Lionel Messi.
The 21-year-old has never shied away from his admiration of France legend and current Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane but when it comes to who he would want to follow in terms of a career path, the Portugese is an obvious choice for the striker.
"If you are French, you obviously grow up with Zidane as an idol . Then another idol was Cristiano, with whom I have already had the good fortune to measure myself as a rival, also with the national team," he said as per Marca.
"Juventus is a strong team and is shown by the finals he played in recent seasons. They have always lacked something to make a difference, and now he has it thanks to Cristiano. He is the player that makes you win the important things."
Naturally when Ronaldo's name is mentioned, his rival, Messi too comes into the conversation and Mbappe believes that it is too late to follow his career trajectory.
"It's too late for me to have a career like Messi. I'd have to have stayed with Monaco. But without taking anything from Messi, I now have to be inspired by Cristiano's career," Mbappe concluded.
