Portugal and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered to be one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport, with the striker winning a number of professional and personal honours during his career, including five Ballon d'Or awards.

The 34-year-old after a slow start to the season, continued his stunning run of form for the Bianconeri as he scored the opening goal during their 3-1 win over AS Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-final on Wednesday.

This was Ronaldo's 30th goal in just 31 games for club and country so far this season and the manner in which he scored his goal on the night - by driving the ball deep into the Roma half before drilling home across the face of goal on his weaker side has got fans purring with many calling him the original GOAT (Greatest Player of All-Time) on social networking site, Twitter.

"There's only one GOAT, no other person than king Cristiano Ronaldo," one fan tweeted, while another wrote, "Best player ever Cristiano Ronaldo GOAT.” A third added, "Messi in 2020 : 2 goals in 3 games. Ronaldo in 2020 : 7 goals in 4 games," with another user commenting, "New year but same old Ronaldo. Gave The Old Lady an early lead...GOAT."

2020 has so far been very good to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as he has netted seven goals in just four games and the club management will hope that he continues his good form going ahead and lead them to their first Champions League title since 1996.
