Premier League: 3 Things to Look Forward to as Manchester United Host Burnley

Manchester United take on Burnley at the Old Trafford later tonight as the Red Devils would want to take advantage of Chelsea’s slip up with a win here. With that in mind, here are the three things to look forward to from this match.

3. Cut down to 3

Manchester United have the chance to cut down their six point difference with Chelsea to just three by beating Burnley here. The Londoners are fourth in the table and lead the Red Devils by six points.

This means that should the Old Trafford outfit manage to win against the visitors later tonight, they go within touching distance of the top four and given that almost every other top four aspirant is in erratic form, a win here would do wonders to them.

2. Another giant-killing opportunity for Burnley

Burnley looked set to lose their fifth league match in a row against Leicester City in the last game as they were trailing the game 1-0 at half-time, thanks to a goal from Harvey Barnes.

However, they made a strong comeback in the next half and scored two goals via Chris Wood and Ashley Westwood to win the match 2-1 against an in-form Leicester. United, meanwhile, are as erratic as they come, which is why Burnley could hope to make a similar impact tonight.

1. Missing Rashford

United are set to be without Marcus Rashford for the next six weeks at the minimum. The young forward is out with a back injury and United are without one of the main sources of goals.

As a result, Anthony Martial will have to pick himself up and rediscover his scoring touch. Roy Keane suggested a few days ago that the Frenchman is not good enough to play for the Red Devils but he can use the former United midfielder’s words as motivation and turn up with a good performance here.
