French star Kylian Mbappe has revealed that Zinedine Zidane was first idol while growing up and he was followed by Cristiano Ronaldo. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the future and his words of praise for the current Madrid manager and a former Galactico are sure to put fuel on the fire.

The Paris Saint-Germain star will have only two years left on his contract this summer, which has triggered rumours linking him to Real Madrid. On top of that, Zidane himself revealed earlier in the season that it is Mbappe’s dream to play for the Galacticos.

Meanwhile, the PSG star has revealed that Zidane, Ronaldo and the Brazilian players were his idols growing up while also adding that he wants to leave his own mark on the game.

"Well, I've had phases. As a kid, it was Zidane," Mbappe said when asked about his idols, as per Marca.

"If you're a kid and you're French, your idol is Zidane. After, it was Cristiano, who I had the luck to go up against, and then the Brazilians for their way of playing.

"I want to leave my mark with my values, to leave a message in the history of football.”

The youngster then revealed his ambitions for the year, saying: "I want the treble, it wouldn't be bad," he said. "Winning the Champions League with PSG, my first European Cup, then the Euros and the Olympics to cap it off."
