European giants, Barcelona have reportedly drawn a three-man shortlist to replace striker, Luis Suarez who is expected to miss the rest of the season after recently undergoing surgery on his injured knee.

The club management who sacked Ernesto Valverde and replaced him with former Real Betis coach, Quique Setien are determined to back him in the January transfer window as they look for someone to fill in the boots of Surez, atleast for the short-term.

Dinamo Zagreb striker, Dani Olmo, AC Milan attacker Krzysztof Piatek and Pedro of Chelsea are said to be three players in consideration to pick up the slack - who they believe have the quality to play for them.

Olmo who came through the youth academy at Barcelona has been linked Wolves and Milan, but it is understood that he is keen to return to the Nou Camp as he wants to play Champions League football regularly.

Piatek is another name being linked with a transfer in recent weeks - with Tottenham Hotspur said to be close to securing his signature, though nothing has been agreed as of now. With Zlatan Ibrahimovic's arrival at the San Siro, it could be easier for the Catalan's to secure his signature.

Pedro's name comes as a surprise considering that he is not a prolific goalscorer but being a former player and a lifelong fan, he would jump at the opportunity to return to Spain.

It will be interesting to see what decision the Catalan's take as they could also just decide to sign a long-term replacement for the Uruguayan in the summer rather than at present.
