Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up on their 2-1 win over Parma in the Serie A on Sunday, admitting that he is very "thrilled" by the result and acknowledging the importance of the three points on the night after rivals, Inter Milan stumbled once again.

The 34-year-old scored both goals of the game to give the Bianconeri an important win, which now ensures that they go four points clear of second placed, Inter after Antonio Conte's men were held to a 1-1 draw by Lecce earlier in the day.

"The important thing was to win tonight. Lazio won, Inter drew, and we could not afford not to take advantage of this important opportunity. It was a difficult game, because Parma are an excellent team who caused us some difficulties," Ronaldo said post the game.

"I'm happy to have helped the team with two goals, but the important thing is always the three points at the end."

Ronaldo who had a poor start to the current campaign by his standards, has rediscovered his best form in recent weeks, taking his tally to 18 goals for the season of which 17 have come in the league.

He will look to continue his good run when they are next in action, with the Bianconeri scheduled to face AS Roma in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals on Wednesday, the 22nd of January.
