Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly in talks about a potential swap deal between Federico Bernardeschi and Ivan Rakitic, according to AS.

The move was apparently mooted last season but shot down by former Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde. However, the arrival of Quique Setien has meant that the idea has been rekindled, with the new boss willing to green light the move. For his part, Maurizio Sarri is also keen on adding the quality of the Croatian to the battery of centre midfielders at the club already.

However, while Rakitic's representatives have agreed in principle to a Juventus move, the two clubs are yet to agree about the specifics of the deal.

Juventus, especially, are highlighting the six year age gap between the 25-year-old winger and the 31-year-old centre midfielder and may demand monetary compensation to pad the deal.

In addition to that, Bernardeschi's representatives have not reverted signalling their willingness to move to Barcelona either. However, response from the player's camp is expected imminently, according to the report.

Both the players have made 19 appearances each for their respective clubs this season. While there has been talk surrounding Rakitic's departure for more than a year now, Bernardeschi has had to be content playing second fiddle to Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.
