New Borussia Dortmund signing Erling Braut Haaland has faced the wrath of Twitter users following the revelation of his ‘likes’ on Twitter. The Norwegian has liked some tweets supporting notorious US President Donald Trump and has also liked some of the tweets by the POTUS himself.
Haaland was signed by Dortmund in the January transfer window after a superb breakthrough with Red Bull Salzburg. The youngster has already scored 28 goals from 22 games this season but will now have to play in a tougher league in Germany.
Recently, Marco Reus praised the youngster for his ability to find the net, saying that the German side haven’t had a forward like him since the days of Robert Lewandowski.
"I don't think we've had that kind of striker since Robert Lewandowski," Reus said, as per Bundesliga. "He [Haaland] gives us the option to be more flexible and to play in different systems and styles.
"He's a very open guy. First of all, it's important to get to know him. He gives us another way of playing and we have to be able to work with him, too, and bring out all his strengths. But that will all come about in time."
And it seems as though he has already gotten to a rather controversial start to his Dortmund career as fans exploded on Twitter after seeing that he ‘likes’ Donald Trump…
Here are some of the best reactions…
You really think a Hitler Youth replica like Haaland wasn’t gonna be a Trump guy? https://t.co/0ek38Y0a6M— Ryan 🐍 (14-3) (@Zinchenkho) January 16, 2020
Haaland really support Trump? Surely this will not look good on him.. Not many famous athletes I know who support Trump, especially outside USA. https://t.co/YtlhVgbaIJ— 🇳🇴 Football (@NORFtbl) January 16, 2020
If y'all guys have canceled Haaland for liking Trump, why haven't you canceled Julian Brandt for liking Fortnite?— Ale 🦃 (@romantuerki) January 16, 2020

Wait, I was a bit disappointed when we didn't sign Haaland, but now we know he's a Trump supporter? 👀— Casey Stoney's Red Army (@hunter_mufc) January 17, 2020
Ok, now I'm glad we didn't. 🙌

If your answer to all this is any different to Haaland's questionable sympathy for Trump, because he's white & blonde, then you are the bigot, my dear
You'd expect me, a known Trump hater, to be one of the people cancelling Haaland for liking his tweets... but honestly, I don't really care about it or think it's a big deal tbh— Ale 🦃 (@romantuerki) January 17, 2020
I don't like it, but it's nothing incriminating
You know what, if Håland's liking tweets about Trump then I'll become a Trump supporter. Whatever makes our golden boy happy makes me happy— James (@FussballJames) January 16, 2020
Erling Haaland supporting Trump? Yikes. The more you find out about this guy the more obnoxious he becomes— lfc (@ynwaliverpooI) January 17, 2020
