Portugal and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is considered to be one of the greatest footballers in the history of the sport and is arguably the most popular and widely followed stars on the planet.
Despite being 34-years-old, his star has shown no sign of waning atleast in the Far East as he has come out on top most influential footballers online in China for the second year in a row. As per a Red Card report, the striker was one of the few players to see both his Weibo engagement and follower growth increase in the previous year.

The above number is even more impressive considering that digital engagment with footballers and football clubs had decreased by 15 percent over the past year, with it not affecting the digital numbers of Ronaldo - who finished the year as the most followed international player on Weibo.
"I am very pleased with this award. I know that I have a huge part of fans in China and it means a lot to be on top of the table for the second year in a row. Thank you very much for this, it's a pleasure to be with you all," Ronaldo said on winning the award.
Paris Saint-Germain's, Neymar came in second on the list while Ronaldo's long-time rival and Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi rounded up the top three.
