Liverpool and Brazil team-mates Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker broke down in tears as the goalkeeper assisted the forward in a Christian baptism. Firmino posted a video on his Instagram to share with fans a video of him during the ceremony, which was attended by a large crowd.
The video shows Firmino walking towards a swimming pool where Alisson and his wife Larissa are waiting for him. Alisson aids him in dunking his head in the water to complete the process.
Firmino then embraces his wife and they both appear to cry, while Alisson can be seen in the background visibly emotional and wiping tears from his eyes.
Firmino added an emotional caption to his post in Portuguese which translated to: "I gave my failures and the victories I will give you too.
"My greatest title is Your Love Jesus. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, new things have come."
Firmino and Alisson are known to be strongly religious and seem to have formed a strong bond off the pitch. The striker scored Liverpool's only goal in their 1-0 win over Tottenham, while the shotstopper has also played a big part, keeping a clean sheet in his last five games in a row.
The pair will be back in action during Sunday's huge clash with rivals Manchester United as they look to continue their relentless march to a surely inevitable first ever Premier League title.
