The day hasn’t even begun properly and we have already had a big coup in the form of Gedson Fernandes to Tottenham and there seems to be room for more. With that in mind, we take a look at the biggest stories of the day and rate them accordingly…
Boateng won’t be allowed to leave
Jerome Boateng will not be allowed to leave Bayern Munich in the winter transfer window, according to journalist Christian Falk. The Bavarians have informed him of their decision as they believe that their squad is too small as it is.
Rumour rating: 7/10
Bayern don’t really have a big squad and are also depleted with injuries. As a result, it would make sense for them to block a move for the German star as a means to keep the depth of the squad intact.
Liverpool reject Grealish
According to a report from Express, Liverpool have snubbed the possibility of signing Jack Grealish from Aston Villa. The report claims that the Reds had the chance to sign him last summer but they refused to go ahead with it – just like they are doing now.
Rumour rating: 5/10
The Reds don’t really need a player in the mould of Grealish and while it wouldn’t be surprising for them to reject the chance to sign him – twice – it simply doesn’t make sense for the player to be offered to the Merseyside outfit in the first place as Villa really want to keep him at the club.
Pogba likely to leave in the summer
Paul Pogba is likely to leave Manchester United in the summer, according to a report from Sky in Germany. Transfer expert Max Bielefeld believes that since Pogba will have just a year left in his contract in the summer, there is a high chance for him to leave at the end of the season.
Rumour rating: 8/10
Almost everyone knows of Pogba’s desire to leave the Old Trafford outfit. Given that he will have just a year left in his contract by the time summer comes, United will have to sell him for a lower fee or risk losing him on a Bosman transfer in 2021.
