Athletico Paranaense president Mario Celso Petraglia has revealed that Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of young star Bruno Guimaraes. The defensive midfielder has already played 84 times for his club and has impressed European clubs with his tenacity and defensive awareness in his position.

Arsenal and Benfica are among the clubs that have placed him on their respective radars and according to Petraglia, the Gunners have indeed shown interest in him but will only make an offer by the end of the season.

"Arsenal are interested but will only make an offer towards the end of the season," Petraglia said, as per Goal.

Meanwhile, Petraglia also spoke about Benfica, stating that the Portuguese giants have already made an offer for the midfielder and that they will now study it and make a decision accordingly.

"Yes, it is true [that Benfica have made an offer]. Yesterday, Benfica's official proposal to hire Bruno Guimaraes arrived," Petraglia added.

"We are going to study Benfica's proposal. On Monday, we will meet the club's management to assess this situation."

Atletico Madrid are said to have the first refusal on the player but Petraglia has revealed that the Rojiblancos are not interested in signing the player at this point in time.

"[Atletico Madrid] have already informed [Athletico Paranaense] that they are not interested in the player," Petraglia continued.
