Another day, another flurry of transfer rumours in the mill as we attempt to review the top transfer stories of the day and evaluate the possibility of it happening on a scale of 0 to 10.

Van de Beek to reject United

According to a report from Mirror, Donny van de Beek is set to reject advances from Manchester United as he has his eyes set on a move to Real Madrid. The Galacticos were linked to the player in the summer but nothing came of it but the report claims that the player is almost certain to join the Blancos in the summer after the Galacticos agreed to meet Ajax’s £46.8million valuation.

Rumour rating: 2/10

The form of Fede Valverde combined with the fact that Zinedine Zidane would rather sign Paul Pogba instead of spending that much on the Dutchman means that there is little chance for the Los Blancos of actually making this happen.

Liverpool say no to Roma

Liverpool have rejected the advances of Roma for attacking midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri as the Reds are in no mood of letting go of the Swiss on loan, according to Fabrizio Romano, who went as far as claiming that there is no chance.

Rumour rating: 9/10

Whatever Fabrizio Romano says about transfer rumours is like gospel and this is a story that falls in that category.

Stumbling block in Bruno Fernandes deal

According to BBC journalist Simon Stone, Manchester United have hit a roadblock in their approach from Sporting’s Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese attacking midfielder is reportedly interested in joining the Old Trafford but Sporting want Marcos Rojo in return.

However, the Argentine has a better offer from Turkey and manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer has also made it clear that he won’t allow any players to leave before an adequate replacement is signed because he thinks that the squad is thin as it is.

Rumour rating: 7/10

United need a creative attacking midfielder and Fernandes ticks all boxes. However, their squad is indeed thin and it wouldn’t be shocking for Solskjaer to block signings if he doesn’t get a replacement first.
