Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in swapping Thomas Lemar for Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette. The Spanish side have been long-term admirers of the French forward, who is facing an uncertain future at the Emirates.

Lemar has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, with Arsenal, ChelseaTottenham, and even Wolves reported to be in the race for his signature. Lacazette has found it difficult to find his scoring boots after returning from injury and fans have been calling for his head for a while now.

Lemar has been linked to the Gunners for multiple seasons in a row and transfer speculation has continued this month as Mikel Arteta eyes reinforcements for the second half of the season.

Marca have reported that Atletico are prepared to offer Thomas Lemar in exchange for the Arsenal striker, due to the fact that they are struggling to close a deal for Edinson Cavani. Like with Lacazette, the La Liga outfit aren't keen on paying a transfer fee for his services. Cavani's contract is up at the end of the season and his PSG exit seems set in stone.

According to AS, Ligue 1 outfit Lyon are ready to join the Gunners in the race to sign Lemar and are preparing a loan offer with a purchase option included.

However, the Marca report adds that Atleti have called on Jorge Mendes, their "most trusted agent" to work on an exit strategy with the Gunners in the hope to get Lemar off their books during the second half of the season.
