Bayern Munich stars, Robert Lewandowski and David Alaba wants the club to sign midfielder, Philippe Coutinho on a permanent basis after the Brazilian showed glimpses of returning back to his old form, netting a hat-trick in their 6-1 demolition of Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

The 27-year-old who moved to the German giants in the summer on a one-year loan spell has struggled to get back to his best in the recent past, but looks like he is returning to his former self especially under interim manager, Hansi Flick.

Bayern have an option of making his stay with them permanent come the end of the season and his fellow team-mates in Alaba and Lewandowski want the club to exercise that option come next season.

“If you watched the game today, we have to buy him, right?" Alaba commented with the Polish hit-man revealing that, "It was outstanding how he did that today.  We need this kind of player. I'm really happy that he showed what he is able to do," as per Goal.

It will be interesting to see whether Bayern decided to sign the Brazilian on a permanent basis considering that they would need to fork out €120million to Barcelona in order for that to happen.
