Neymar Senior has claimed that he and his son have a good relationship with Barcelona despite the ongoing legal battle against the Catalan giants.

The Brazilian filed a lawsuit against the Blaugrana shortly after leaving the Camp Nou. The dispute is reportedly about a €26 million unpaid loyalty bonus but recently, another report suggested that the former Santos star had filed a new €3.5 million claim.

However, according to Neymar’s father, their ongoing legal issues with Barcelona have not harmed the relationship between them and he is hopeful that the matter will be resolved soon.

"It's a thing from the past when Neymar left Barcelona," he said, as per AS

"We always want to reach an agreement, it is better for everyone. Barcelona are not worried about this and neither are we. We have never had a bad relationship with Bartomeu. We don't know anything about the future.”

Neymar Sr. then added that his son is happy in Paris, despite reports linking him with a move back to Catalonia.

"Neymar has a contract with the PSG. He is happy," he concluded.

There were rumours of the Brazilian dropping the suit if he had successfully joined the Camp Nou outfit in the summer but a move failed to materialise, causing further problems for all parties involved.

The Brazil star has scored six goals in Ligue 1 so far this season from just eight matches, but his future with Les Parisiens is still unclear.
