Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has confirmed that Erling Haaland has held transfer talks with Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig as the January transfer window draws closer.
Haaland has had an incredible season so far, scoring 28 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions, including eight in the Champions League. The 19-year-old has caught the interest of many clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, Dortmund, Real Madrid and Leipzig.
However, Salzburg chief Freund has now confirmed that Haaland met with Dortmund and Leipzig representatives in person earlier this week.
"We are involved in all discussions," Freund said during a press conference, as per Goal.
"Of course, we also knew that Haaland was in Leipzig and Dortmund yesterday. Everyone in Salzburg wants the best for him."
According to German publication kicker, RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann spoke to Haaland on Wednesday and the 32-year-old coach insisted the chat went well.
"I tried to explain to him in good English what my idea of football was. I think it went quite well. After such talks you can say relatively little because they are usually very one-sided. You tell a lot as a coach, the consultant and the player listen."
The 2-0 loss to Liverpool in their final Champions League game was the only time Haaland had failed to find the back of the net until now in the competition.
The Norway striker may not be the only Salzburg star to leave the club in the January transfer window; Freund has also confirmed Liverpool are in talks to sign Takumi Minamino.
Having already spoken to RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, it is believed that Erling Haaland will also speak to Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, before making a decision.
