But, a recent research revealed that if you take a look at television revenues, then there's no comparing the two leagues, with the Premier League doubling La Liga in revenues.
The Premier League makes a total of 2,898 million euros in television revenues, which is distributed among its 20 teams, while Spain's top tier earns just 1,420 million euros.
Marca report that the Premier League's top six outperform Barcelona and Real Madrid, while Atletico Madrid would be the second lowest earning side in England's top flight, with their 119 million bettering just Huddersfield's 114 million from last season.

Liverpool lead the way as they take in 179 million euros, Manchester City collate as much as 178 million euros, Chelsea make up to 172 million euros and Tottenham are fourth with 171 million euros.
Manchester United and Arsenal are fifth and sixth with 168 and 167 million euros respectively. Talking about the Spanish supremos, Barcelona receive 166 million euros, more than Real Madrid's 155 million euros.
Despite many thinking there might be more technical talent in La Liga, one cannot deny the Premier League is actually the most competitive league in terms of numbers at the very lease.
