3 Players That Chelsea Could Sign in the January Transfer Window

Chelsea have had their transfer ban halved by the Court of Arbitration for Sport and the Blues are now free to sign players in the January transfer window after failing to do in the summer.

The Londoners have been doing decently this season as Frank Lampard’s men find themselves at fourth spot in the table and have been one of the most entertaining sides so far in this campaign.

And now, with the window now open for them, here are three players that the Blues could sign in the winter…

3. Nathan Ake

One of the biggest problems for the Blues this season has been their defence. The Londoners have conceded 24 goals in the league so far – and that is more than any side in the top half of the table right now.

As a result, they need to strengthen their defence and while there are quite a few options, Nathan Ake seems to be the best one for them. Chelsea could sign him for just £40 million and he is a good defender who was also a part of their academy, which means he is already accustomed to the club.

2. Ciro Immobile

Chelsea’s dependence on Tammy Abraham has been apparent so far this season. While the club academy graduate has done well so far this season with 11 goals from 15 league matches, they don’t really have a good backup for him.

As a result, the Blues struggle to score without him. Olivier Giroud is expected to leave in the winter, which is why they might need a striker in the January transfer window.

In that regard, Ciro Immobile could be an excellent choice as he has been on fire this season. He has 17 goals from just 15 league matches for Lazio and would be a great addition for the Blues.

1. Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha has been linked with a move to a top club for a long time now but so far, it hasn’t happened. Chelsea are among the clubs that have been linked with the Ivorian and it makes full sense for them to be.

For starters, he is a winger and while Chelsea do have Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi, they are somewhat short of depth in the area. Secondly, he is an excellent dribbler of the ball who can create chances for his teammates out of nothing.

And it is about time he moves to a top club and shows his abilities, after his move to Manchester United six years ago did not work out.
