A Liverpool fan actually called up talkSPORT and claimed that Lionel Messi is overrated and that he wouldn't swap Mohamed Salah to get the Argentinean in his side.

Messi won an incredible record breaking sixth Ballon d'Or of his career on Monday after a year in which he scored 54 goals for club and country and won his 34th trophy as a player as he helped Barcelona to the La Liga title.

This time out, the Argentine maestro beat Virgil van Dijk to win the Ballon d'Or, leading to Liverpool fans raging against Messi including one fan who went on radio to give in some rather awful opinions.

Here's the video:

He started by claiming that Messi only plays in a so-called "league with two teams" and suggesting he wouldn't be able to cut in the Premier League.

Then he went on to stated that Van Dijk deserved to win the Ballon d'Or before stating that he thinks Cristiano Ronaldo is the undisputed GOAT because he has done it in three different leagues.

To finish off his incredible comments, he told Jason Cundy and Andy Goldstein that he'd rather have Salah than "cry-baby" Messi.

Well, it's something worth noting that Messi might not be playing in the Premier League but he has played against top Premier League sides in the Champions League.

What's worth pointing out is that since the 2011-12 season, Messi has scored 26 times against the top six sides in the Premier League.

Now, think about this, only Sergio Aguero and Jamie Vardy have more goals against the Champions League sides since 2011-12, which is pretty insane when you consider Messi plays in a different league.
