Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi has opened up on his future at the club, revealing that he gets offers to leave the Catalan giants every year, but that he never even thought about their proposals as he is happy at the Nou Camp.

Messi created history on Monday when he won the Ballon d'Or award for a record sixth time, going one ahead of rival, Cristiano Ronaldo. The 32-year-old's future at the club has come under the microscope after it was revealed that his contract has a clause which states that he is free to leave the club at the end of every season.

"Proposals, I have them all the time. Every year, I have the opportunity to sign elsewhere. Many clubs opened their doors, but they knew that my will was clear. They were just there in case, one day, I would have wanted to change air," Messi said as quoted by Dailystar.

“Every year, I am probed to know my state of mind and if I want to leave. It does not matter the club. I received proposals from everywhere. But I never really thought about it because I did not intend to leave."

The 32-year-old has been in brilliant form this year and his club will be expected to continue that form as the season progresses if they are to challenge for trophies both domestically and in Europe.
