Georgina Rodriguez, girlfriend of ​Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to social networking site, Instagram to send a message of support to the Portugese superstar after he lost out to rival, Lionel Messi in the Ballon d'Or stakes on Monday.

Ronaldo who ​snubbed the ceremony in Paris in favour of travelling to Milan to collect the Serie A 'Best Player of 2018/19' award saw Messi win his sixth Ballon d'Or award and Rodriguez went on to send a heartfelt message which stated that thoughthe 34-year-old has plenty of titles and awards, they aren't they aren't the only thing that defines him as a person.

"What speaks best about you is yourself, your passion, your hunger for self-improvement, your fellowship, because you are the inspiration of Soccer and Sport for millions and millions of people", the translation of her post from Spanish reads. "You are not afraid of the challenges, you leave your comfort zone and you continue surpassing yourself and showing the world what it is like to be number 1," she wrote.

This is not the first message posted by a person close to Ronaldo in the wake of his Ballon d'Or snub, with his sister​ Katia Aveiro recently taking to social media to lash out at Liverpool defender, Virgil van Dijk for his joke about the Portugal star during the ceremony.
