European clubs without a doubt have some of the best strikers in the world at present, and here 

we take a look at five players who have scored the most goals in the top-five leagues this year. 

5. Jamie Vardy (Leicester City) - 25 goals

Leicester City have surprised everyone by their performances this season and key to their rise has been the form of striker, Jamie Vardy. The Englishman has scored 25 goals in the league in 2019 and despite being 32, he is showing no signs of slowing down. 

4. Kylian Mbappe (Paris Saint-Germain) - 25 goals

Widely considered by many to be the one to take up the mantle of the "Best in the world", once Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo hang up their boots, Kylian Mbappe has been in brilliant form over the past two seasons.


The 20-year-old has surpassed Neymar when it comes to importance for his club and has been sensational for them in the league this year, netting 25 goals so far.

3. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid) - 25 goals

Karim Benzema is arguably enjoying the best form of his career this season and has stepped up for Real Madrid following Cristiano Ronaldo's departure. The Frenchman has been their best player this year as seen by the 25 goals he has netted in the La Liga.


Manager, Zinedine Zidane will be hoping that 31-year-old continues his good form as he they look to challenge for trophies both domestically and in Europe.

2. Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich) - 28 goals

The most in-form striker in the world at present, Robert Lewandowski shows no signs of slowing down despite being 31, proving why he will go down as one of the best front man in the history of the sport.


The Polish international has netted 28 goals in the Bundesliga so far this year and is probably on his way to another Golden Boot award.

The record six-time Ballon d'Or winner in Lionel Messi sits on top of the list with 29 league goals in 2019, with the Argentinian carrying the burden of Barcelona on his back. Messi will without doubt add to his tally and it will be interesting to see whether he remains on top come the end of the year.
