The Norwegian wonderkid was, in fact, referring to the five match balls he took home for each of his hat-tricks, admitting that he even sleeps with them.
The 19-year-old has already scored five hat-tricks for Red Bull Salzburg this season, taking his tally to 26 goals from just 18 games in all competitions so far.
Haaland has not spoken much about his future in recent months but has discussed his love for the game and pride in scoring hat-tricks, something which he says drives him on.
“I sleep with the five balls that I have for each hat-trick I scored. I lie in bed and I feel good with them. I look at them every day. They are my girlfriends,” Haaland told Dagbladet.
The teenager is a man of few words, and was quizzed about his future this week yet again ahead of the January transfer window, with reports linking him with a move to the Camp Nou.
Haaland said, "You know my answer. No comment."

On his aim for the internationals, he added, "The objective is two victories. If we still can't qualify, winning is important for the FIFA ranking. There will also be two important tests in the Nations League play-offs in March."
Erling Braut Haaland was given his break at Molde under current Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, which puts them in good stead to sign the youngster this summer.
