Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has been able to perform pretty well in the last few months and despite getting the flack from the Red Devils' fans more often, the English striker has gone on to better current Juventus hitman Cristiano Ronaldo's stats after 187 games for the Red Devils.
Marca report that Rashford has scored 54 goals so far with the Red Devils, while the Portuguese star had netted 49 after the same amount of games. Not only that, Rashford has managed to do so at 22 years and seven days whereas it took Ronaldo 22 years, two months and 26 days to reach these number of goals.
The striker was given his debut by Dutch manager Louis van Gaal, who hailed his talent and revealed that Rashford was one of the best players who he had handed out a debut as a coach.
Where did you get these stats ? His Wikipedia page says 51 goals for 190 games (as a winger, not taking pens and free kicks)— Scoutinho - OldTraffordCorner.com (@Scoutinho5) November 12, 2019
And he scored 42 for his 5th season at United. This is a bit less than Rashford’s overall tally.
He had said, "Marcus Rashford is one of the most talented players that I gave debut to."
Van Gaal's comments are pretty big considering that the Dutchman has given debuts to some of the greatest players in football history like Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol, Clarence Seedorf, Edgar Davids and Patrick Kluivert.
In his three full seasons, Rashford has managed to net 11 goals in 2016/17, 13 in 2017/18 and 13 last year, but this campaign he has already scored nine times.
Ofcourse, despite these stats, Rashford is light years away from producing anything near to what Cristiano Ronaldo did at the Theatre of Dreams.
