Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland has been the talk of the transfer market since he broke out on to the scene with his hat-trick in the UEFA Champions League and one of the many big clubs interested in him is FC Barcelona.
The 19-year-old has netted 26 goals in 18 games in the 2019/20 campaign, which has caused many of Europe's biggest teams to begin following the Norwegian.
Marca quote ESPN in reporting that FC Barcelona have stepped up their approach to land a proper successor to Luis Suarez who will turn 33 in January and the Blaugrana see Haaland as a perfect replacement for the Uruguayan legend.
In recent weeks, Inter forward Lautaro Martinez has also been linked to the Blaugrana. However, regarding Haaland, ESPN state that the problem arises with the fee Salzburg would be expecting nothing less than 100 million euros.
The Austrian know that they are in a better bargaining position as they do have one of the best talents in Europe right now in their team while Barcelona are said to consider this price-tag to be pretty excessive.
European giants Real Madrid, English side Manchester United and Italian club SSC Napoli have also been linked with Haaland, but he has a contract with Salzburg until 2023, so it still remains to be seen which clubs decides to shell out the maximum price to sign the 19-year-old sensation in the upcoming transfer windows.
