Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has heaped praise on Niko Kovac following his departure from the Bavarians. The Croat was dismissed after the German giants lost 5-1 to Frankfurt but he seems to have the respect of the players.
Bayern are currently placed fourth on the league table with 18 points from 10 matches, four behind leaders. Borussia Monchengladbach. While Kovac’s side weren’t always consistent, Neuer praised the former Frankfurt boss and revealed that every player have such a strong relationship with him that they could still go out for coffee with the Croat.
"I take my hat off to Niko and Robbie [Robert Kovac, former first-team coach and Niko's brother] as they have said goodbye," Neuer told reporters, as per AS.

"I think that every player, if he meets Robbie or Niko, can look them in the eyes and drink a coffee together.”
He then went on to reveal that the farewell was emotional since they players had a great time with him at the helm and rued the fact that all of this could have been avoided had they performed according to expectations.
"It [the farewell] was emotional, of course, because we had a great time together. We wish him all the best. If we had played successfully, this would not have happened."
Bayern have a tough challenge up ahead as they face Borussia Dortmund in their next match.
